Campaign Idea

A campaign that triggers an effect after the user clicks on a specific URL.

Scenario

Client "Acme" has a shop and wants to give certain users 2 weeks "Free Online Movies". To get a maximum effect, "Acme" doesn't want the user to use a coupon code, but instead activate the free trial for two weeks after the customer clicks on the url in the mail. 

Technical Preconditions

  1. Java Script Tracking Enabled
  2. Talon.One Setup finshed.

Solution 1 - Customer Segment & Unique Coupons

This campaign setup is designed to avoid the campaign from being shared as there are two distinct restrictions: 

1. Each URL will have a unique coupon code as validator
2. Each coupon code is validated against an individual customer 

The Setup
  1. Create Customer Segment with all eligible Customers 
  2. Condition: "Customer Segment = "New Customer Group"
  3. Effect: "Devalidate Coupon after Usage"
  4. Effect: "Update Customer Profile = Account activation (today+14days)

Solution 2 - Distinct Coupon

This campaign setup is designed to avoid the campaign from being shared as there is one distinct restriction:

1. Each URL will have a unique coupon code as validator

The Setup
  1. Create Customer Segment with all eligible Customers 
  2. Condition: "Customer Segment = "New Customer Group"
  3. Effect: "Devalidate Coupon after Usage"
  4. Effect: "Update Customer Profile = Account activation (today+14days)

Solution 3 - Customer Segment

This campaign setup is designed with one distinct restriction so the campaign does not get shared:

1. Only customers from a certain pre-defined customer group are able to get that specific promotion. 

The Setup
  1. Create Customer Segment with all eligible Customers 
  2. Condition: "Customer Segment = "New Customer Group"
  3. Effect: "Devalidate Coupon after Usage"
  4. Effect: "Update Customer Profile = Account activation (today+14days)

Solution 4 - Just a URL 

This campaign setup is a simple one, but also has the biggest threat for misusage. 

The only thing we validate against is the entry URL.


The Setup
  1. Create Customer Segment with all eligible Customers 
  2. Condition: "Entry URL = Campaign URL"
  3. Effect: "Devalidate Coupon after Usage"
  4. Effect: "Update Customer Profile = Account activation (today+14days)
